hair accessories
I've really been liking hair combs a lot. They're reminiscent of my grandmother.. and I'm sure, any grandmother, really. They're a simple yet elegant way of holding hair away from the face. I
just bought some hair combs off e-bay with various different selections of flowers. Among them
are:
hawaiian flower
white roses
They're from a seller called Bonitagirl. Make sure to check them out! They have amazing and adorable accessories of all kinds.
Also, I know I mention them a lot but Forever 21 has just about become my favorite store for accessories. They have an amazing selection of headbands, featuring anything from a giant mesh flower to a floppy side-bow, for about $5. Cute, and cute price ;]

bikini kill
Alright, so I haven't updated in a while. I've been scouring fashion magazines and shopping like a crazy person for summertime. I'm the kind of person who always has trouble finding a bathing suit. Reason being, the flimsy triangle tops that come with most bikinis do not do me justice at all. I'm not so top-heavy that I need any custom made bathing suits or anything like that, but no support at all is a drag (literally). That said, I do own triangle-top bikinis, and I've dealt with them anyway. Until now. I found some really awesome, and more importantly, inexpensive bikini tops with underwire... and... *ahhh*... I found myself a push up model too!
(exact bathing suit I have)
I found this one on eBay. It was pretty cheap, $22.50. I found some even cheaper underwire models in some really cute summer prints and colors at Forever 21 and H&M also. The one below is a high-waisted model from H&M

trend:celebrities as models
Alright, so, here's the thing. I've said it before and I'll continue to say it.. I really dislike seeing random celebrities on covers of magazines. Like, why does Taylor Swift have to be on the cover of a fashion magazine? When they put her on Rolling Stone that was still odd to me, but way more fitting. It's annoying to have to read (essentially) the same article written over and over again. They ask a starlet for her style tips, but what's the real point? They have stylists...people literally tell them what to wear. And, that said, the proof is in the statements. They all love the "bohemian/rock and roll/glam" look. Why? Cuz that's what Rachel Zoe decided was cool and everyone jumped on the bandwagon. And what I love the most is reading something like, "I really dress unique, I'm an individual. My style is really bohemian". Whose isn't at this point?
What happened to the supermodel? What happened to the actor or musician being tucked inside the pages of the magazine as a feature article? I do want to read about celebs I like, but I don't want to see a 5 page spread of their "style".
What happened to fashion? You know, there are reasons why I don't buy Seventeen anymore. Why are trendy immature looks being featured in everything from Elle to Vogue? Where are the articles about the designers whose garments grace the pages of these magazines, draped over the going-to-fade-away star? They are the artists whose opinions on fashion matter.

Marie-Claire
In the post below I attached a picture of some incredibly beautiful shoes with some pretty awesome hardware for the heel- and they were actually, much to my surprise, featured in Marie-Claire's April issue (in black). Kudos to magazines continuing to feature Alexander McQueen's amazing creations. In my mind, he will never die.
